The Rohingya crisis: helping children caught between exile and survival
More than one year after violence broke out in Myanmar, one million Rohingya people are living in Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh. Children, who represent almost half of the camp’s population, are facing new threats. In 2018, Terre des hommes supported 152,300 Rohingya children and their families.
1.6 million children diagnosed thanks to IeDA in 2018
In West Africa, one in ten children dies before the age of five, often due to the lack of quality medical care. In these circumstances, digital technology offers an opportunity to improve healthcare and save lives. Our IeDA project achieved this goal last year.
Working with religious leaders to prevent early marriage
Since the Syrian crisis, child marriage has been on the rise in Lebanon. Tdh worked with religious leaders to prevent this practice and raise community awareness of the risks associated with child marriage. In 2018, our teams supported 325 girls.
In 2018, Terre des hommes was supported by volunteer groups and ambassadors. Thanks to their commitment, we were able to raise valuable funds for projects and increase
public awareness of child protection issues.
